I specialize in holistic, mental health treatment programs.

I have a life long passion for riding the wind and waves. Spirituality, yoga, meditation, and healthy, sustainable living are part and parcel to who I am and each individual program I build takes these principals into account. I am an expert waterman, and combine my knowledge of the ocean waves with my knowledge of brainwaves to offer this treatment program that I have been designing for the past 20 years of my life.

Come visit me and my team, experience a new level of healing using the state of the art in Neurofeedback Treatment combined with tried and true techniques that I have learned though my travels around the world.

My Educational Background

After graduating with honors from Syracuse University, where my main interest was molecular biology.  I attended graduate school at Columbia University, conducting basic brain research in the lab of Nobel Laureate Dr.Walter Kandell.  Bench research helped me realize that I like helping people more then I like observing cells in a dish. I quit science and went to work as a substance abuse counselor for Daytop International, a Therapeutic Community. It was though this work that I made the decision to become a psychiatrist.

I attained the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1999 from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed my training at Boston University Medical Center, where I was fortunate to have studied Post Traumatic Stress Disorder treatment under Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Dr. David Barlow. I completed my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University, where I served as Chief Fellow.

My Practice

In 2003, I started 17th Avenue Psychiatry, one of the first Holistic Mental Health Practices utilizing Brainscanning, Neurofeedback, traditional therapy, nutritional support and a range of other treatments all aimed at reducing the individual’s reliance on pharmaceuticals. My original practice was successful in its vision. However, I decided to close shop after the untimely death of my daughter.

Since that time, I have traveled, learned and applied healing principles to my own life and treated individuals from all walks of life.

I have written and published numerous articles and books on self injury, trauma, autism, asperger’s disorder, pervasive developmental disorders, epilepsy, neurofeedback, brainscanning, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and appeared in local and national media. I am the inventor of Respen-A, the first homeopathic treatment shown to be effective for autism.

And Now is a continuation and improvement on the principals developed through successful treatment with thousands of patients. The foundation of my treatment is built upon integrity, and compassion.

All healing principles begin with balance. It is with balance and union of one’s thoughts, emotions and behaviors that right understanding can be achieved. With right understanding, you can heal yourself.
